District Court Information

           The District Court of the Cherokee Nation serves all 14 counties of the Cherokee Nation Reservation.  The court handles civil, criminal, and juvenile cases.  The civil realm can hear matters of name changes, protective orders, and juvenile guardianship.  The criminal cases are those that arise from the reservation and are prosecuted by the Cherokee Nation Attorney General’s Office.  Juvenile cases handle issues of deprivation, delinquency, and children in need of supervision.
